Mon Mar 24 16:46:35 UTC 2025: ## K-RERA Slams BDA for Delays in Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout Development

**Bengaluru, March 24, 2025** – The Karnataka Real Estate Regulatory Authority (K-RERA) on Monday resumed its long-delayed hearing on the Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout, sharply criticizing the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) for its failure to provide basic infrastructure. The hearing, the first in two and a half years, saw K-RERA chairman Rakesh Singh express his displeasure at the BDA’s inaction, forcing landowners to seek K-RERA’s intervention for even essential amenities.

While BDA engineers pledged to provide infrastructure to those starting construction immediately, Mr. Singh questioned their approach and demanded a concrete plan within two days detailing outstanding work and completion timelines. This plan will be reviewed at the next hearing on April 9th.

Complainants also pressed for compensation for the significant delays. Although Mr. Singh initially expressed uncertainty about K-RERA’s penalizing powers, he later acknowledged its authority and requested detailed compensation claims for the next hearing. The protracted delays and the BDA’s apparent lack of progress have left landowners frustrated and seeking redress through K-RERA.
