Mon Mar 24 05:33:10 UTC 2025: ## Nagpur Violence Aftermath: Demolition Planned for Accused’s Home

**Nagpur, March 24, 2025** – Authorities are set to demolish illegal portions of the home belonging to Fahim Khan, a key accused in the recent Nagpur riots, after he failed to comply with a demolition notice. Khan, a leader of the Minority Democratic Party (MDP), was arrested for sedition following the March 17th violence, which erupted after rumours of a religious flag being burnt during protests.

The six-day curfew was lifted on Sunday, March 23rd, with Nagpur Police Commissioner Ravindra Singal leading a march. Over 100 people have been arrested in connection with the violence, which resulted in injuries to 33 police officers, including three Deputy Commissioners. The riots involved widespread stone-pelting and arson.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has stated that the cost of property damage will be recovered from the rioters, with non-payment resulting in the seizure and sale of their assets. He emphasized a strong crackdown on those responsible, including those who spread inflammatory content online. While investigations continue, Mr. Fadnavis hinted at a possible Malegaon connection to the violence, referencing an accused with ties to a political party from that city. The investigation is also looking into potential foreign involvement.
