**Chennai, March 24, 2025** – The Tamil Nadu government has announced a ₹5 crore plan to protect and develop a unique geological canyon located in Bommayapalayam, Villupuram district. The 1.8-km long canyon, spanning 65.18 acres, features distinctive red soil and Cuddalore sandstone formations. Water Resources Minister Duraimurugan made the announcement in the state assembly, highlighting the site’s importance for geological research and education.
