Sun Mar 23 17:01:45 UTC 2025: ## Anti-Terror Operation in Kathua Halted for Night, 7-Year-Old Injured

**KATHUA, JAMMU AND KASHMIR –** A counter-terrorism operation in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, has been temporarily suspended for the night and will resume in the morning, officials announced. The operation began earlier today following a gun battle with infiltrating terrorists.

A seven-year-old girl sustained injuries in the crossfire but is reportedly stable and out of danger, according to medical sources. The operation was launched after local residents alerted authorities to the presence of heavily armed terrorists in Sanyal village, near the International Border in the Hiranagar sector.

Quick Reaction Teams from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and local police were the first responders, later reinforced by multiple companies of CRPF and the army. This latest incident follows a recent surge in terrorist infiltration attempts in the Jammu region. On March 17th, an encounter in Kupwara district resulted in the death of a Pakistani terrorist. Furthermore, terrorists recently killed three innocent civilians in Kathua district, including a 14-year-old boy.
