**Palakkad, Kerala –** The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has accused the state government of corruption, alleging that the approval of a brewery in Elappully, Palakkad district, disregarded the concerns of local farmers.

KPCC vice president V.T. Balram made the accusations on Sunday while inaugurating a 100-hour-long Satyagraha protest led by Karshaka Congress State president Majush Mathew. The protest, which began Saturday at Anchuvilakku junction, opposes the proposed brewery’s construction in a rain shadow area of Palakkad.

Balram criticized the State Excise department for ignoring farmers’ protests and warned the government against repeating past mistakes, referencing the Plachimada agitation. He stated that granting permission for the brewery in Elappully demonstrated the government’s disregard for the district’s agricultural community. The event was also addressed by several other Congress leaders.
