**Karimnagar, Telangana –** Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao has accused the ruling Congress party in Telangana of imposing an “emergency regime” and targeting BRS cadres with repressive measures. Speaking at a party meeting in Karimnagar on Sunday, March 23, 2025, Rao alleged that the Congress government’s actions are causing widespread discontent among various sections of society, including farmers.
The meeting served as preparation for the BRS’s 25th foundation day public meeting in Warangal on April 27th. Rao vowed to hold the Congress accountable for its actions once the BRS returns to power, urging party workers to document instances of harassment against BRS members. He contrasted the current situation with the perceived welfare policies of the previous BRS government under K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
Rao also criticized the BJP-led central government for failing to fulfill its promises of job creation and financial assistance, claiming both the Congress and BJP have a history of deception.
To mark its silver jubilee, the BRS announced a year-long celebration highlighting the Telangana statehood movement and the achievements under K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s leadership. The celebrations will include photo exhibitions and workshops across the state, culminating in the Warangal public meeting.
