**Chennai, March 24, 2025** – A 14-year-old girl died after suffering an electric shock while attempting to charge her mobile phone with wet hands in her home in Ernavur, Chennai, on Saturday. Anitha, a ninth-grade student, was the eldest daughter of auto-rickshaw driver Mukundan. Police reports indicate that the incident occurred while her father was at work. Neighbours rushed Anitha to Government Stanley Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The Ennore police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
