Sun Mar 23 18:59:46 UTC 2025: ## Chinese Man’s Grueling 3,300km Trek to Lhasa Leaves Him Aged, but Unbowed

**LHASA, TIBET** – A 31-year-old Chinese man, Liqi, has completed a grueling 3,300km trek from Jingzhou, Hubei province, to Lhasa, Tibet, emerging with a drastically altered appearance and a compelling story. The nearly year-long journey, undertaken with a two-wheeled cart and minimal funds, has aged Liqi by at least two decades, according to his own account.

Liqi’s route took him across some of China’s most challenging terrain, including treacherous mountains and valleys. He faced extreme weather conditions, including blizzards and typhoons, often sleeping under the open sky and subsisting on meager meals. His journey was fraught with peril; he was stranded in a blizzard, encountered wolves, and suffered a severe knee injury requiring him to limp the final stretch. A broken cart wheel added to his difficulties, forcing him to make improvised repairs.

Despite living on a mere 1,000 yuan (approximately Rs 12,000) per month, Liqi remained resolute. He dismissed suggestions his journey was a publicity stunt, stating, “I just live in my own way. It is not torturing myself, but another form of challenge.”

Arriving in Lhasa on March 11th, exhausted and financially depleted, Liqi plans to take a train home. His immediate priorities include his first bath in months, a haircut, and sharing his incredible story through live streams. His transformation, from a youthful 31-year-old to a man appearing 20 years older, serves as a testament to the extraordinary hardships he endured during his epic trek.
