**Belagavi, Karnataka, March 24, 2025** – Several BJP workers were arrested today in Belagavi, Karnataka, following a protest that involved the destruction of a poster featuring Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The protest, which began as a rasta roko (road blockade) at Kittur Channamma Circle, was sparked by the recent suspension of BJP MLAs from the state assembly.
Led by Subhash Patil and Geeta Sutar, protestors initially targeted a poster highlighting the state government’s five guarantees, tearing the bottom portion before police intervention. While some protestors were arrested and later released, others continued their demonstration, culminating in the submission of a memorandum to the Governor at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The protest involved the burning of posters and images of Congress leaders. Police action followed the vandalism.
