**New Delhi, March 24, 2025** – E-commerce giant Amazon India announced significant fee reductions for its sellers, aiming to boost growth for small businesses. Effective April 7th, referral fees will be eliminated on over 12 million products priced under ₹300 across 135 categories, including apparel, groceries, and electronics. This move is intended to make selling on Amazon more profitable for smaller vendors.

The company also lowered national shipping rates for sellers using its Easy Ship and Seller Flex services, reducing the flat rate from ₹77 to ₹65. Handling fees for lightweight items under 1 kg have been reduced by up to ₹17. Amazon claims these changes could result in savings of over 90% on selling fees for sellers shipping multiple units.

Amit Nanda, Director of Selling Partner Services at Amazon India, stated that these changes reflect operational efficiencies being passed on to both sellers and customers, enabling sellers to offer more competitive prices and expand their product selection. With over 1.6 million sellers on its platform, Amazon’s initiative is expected to have a substantial impact on the Indian e-commerce market.
