**Mangaluru, March 24, 2025** – The Art Kanara Trust hosted a special listening session on Sunday for the debut album of Alva Kuuto, an eclectic Tulu folk band. The event, held at the Kodial Guthu Centre for Art and Cultural Heritage, showcased eight tracks from the self-titled album, highlighting the band’s unique blend of coastal life and Tulu culture.
Lead vocalist Praveen Alva emphasized the band’s commitment to preserving the 2,000-year-old Tulu language through their music. The session also included a screening of the music video for the song “Pageyta Pugey,” with Director of Photography Prithviraj Shastry sharing insights into its low-budget production. Shastry highlighted the team’s dedication to showcasing the Tulu language and culture.
