**Kolkata, March 23, 2025** – West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee departed for a four-to-five-day trip to the United Kingdom on Saturday, facing a 12-hour flight delay due to a power outage at London’s Heathrow Airport. Despite the setback, Ms. Banerjee confirmed a busy schedule, including an engagement at the Indian High Commission in London on Monday and meetings with business leaders. A highlight of the trip will be a speech on “Social Development: Empowerment of Women and Children” at Oxford University’s Kellogg College on Thursday. She is expected to return to West Bengal on March 28.
