VANCOUVER, BC – The Vancouver Whitecaps FC and the Chicago Fire FC battled to a 1-1 draw at the half in a fiercely contested match. The game saw numerous fouls, several near misses, and a flurry of activity on both sides of the pitch.
Hugo Cuypers put the Fire ahead early with a close-range goal assisted by Philip Zinckernagel. However, the Whitecaps fought back, equalizing through Daniel Ríos who scored with a left-footed shot from outside the box, assisted by Jayden Nelson.
