**Hyderabad, October 28:** Telangana experienced widespread heavy rainfall overnight Friday into Saturday, with several districts reporting significant downpours. Medak, Karimnagar, and Jagityal districts were the hardest hit, with some areas receiving up to 6 centimeters of rain. Rajanna Siricilla, Peddapalli, and Karimnagar also saw substantial rainfall. Hyderabad and several other districts, including Siddipet, Mancherial, Yadadri, Vikarabad, Warangal, Kamareddy, and Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, reported rainfall ranging from 1 to 4 centimeters.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) attributes the downpour to a trough extending from Chhattisgarh to Maharashtra and another from interior Karnataka to southern Tamil Nadu. The IMD forecasts moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning in several districts on Sunday and Monday.

Agriculture Minister Tummalla Nageswara Rao has instructed district collectors and officials from the agriculture and marketing departments to remain vigilant in light of the unseasonal rains. He stressed the importance of protecting farmers’ produce and has convened a meeting to assess crop damage. He urged farmers to take preventive measures to safeguard their harvests. The minister emphasized the need for prompt action based on the rainfall information.
