Sun Mar 23 01:24:51 UTC 2025: ## Kerala Goat Crowned World’s Shortest

**KOCHI, KERALA** – A farmer from Kerala, Peter Lenu, is celebrating after his pet goat, Karumbi, was officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the shortest living goat in the world. The four-year-old female Canadian pygmy goat measures just 1 ft 3 in (40.50 cm) tall.

Lenu, initially unaware of Karumbi’s record-breaking stature, was encouraged by others to submit her for consideration. Following a veterinary examination confirming Karumbi’s age, health, and unusually small size for a fully grown goat, the application was successful. Canadian pygmy goats are known for their stocky build and genetic dwarfism, limiting leg growth.

Despite her diminutive size, Karumbi is described as a highly social animal, thriving in a large herd that includes other goats, cows, rabbits, hens, and ducks. Adding to the excitement, Karumbi is currently pregnant, raising the possibility of future record-breaking offspring.

Lenu expressed his delight at the achievement and emphasized his commitment to the health and genetic well-being of all his animals. He looks forward to welcoming Karumbi’s new kid and observing its development.
