**New Delhi, [Date]** – Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal has urged the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), the opposition bloc, to present a united front and adopt a more formal structure. Speaking to PTI, Sibal emphasized the need for cohesive policies, an ideological framework, and a clear program for the future to effectively counter the ruling BJP-led NDA.
Sibal highlighted recent disagreements among INDIA partners during state assembly elections, suggesting these internal conflicts negatively impact public perception. “I think (INDIA) should appear to be a bloc and not un-bloc itself in the public domain,” he stated, advocating for designated spokespersons to represent the alliance’s views. He reiterated his long-standing call for a formal political structure within the bloc, acknowledging potential internal resistance to this idea.
Despite internal challenges, Sibal expressed optimism about the opposition’s prospects, albeit without specifying the alliance’s future organizational form. He attributed some of the BJP’s recent electoral gains to a perceived lack of cohesiveness within INDIA.
Sibal also commented on the upcoming Waqf (Amendment) Bill, suggesting the NDA’s coalition partners might influence its passage given the BJP’s lack of a clear majority, particularly considering upcoming Bihar elections. He further addressed the contentious delimitation issue, highlighting its significant implications for the country’s polity and emphasizing the need for a new census before any delimitation process.
