**Allahabad, India** – A post-mortem examination has revealed the horrific details surrounding the murder of former merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput, allegedly at the hands of his wife, Muskan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla. The autopsy report paints a picture of extreme brutality, detailing the dismemberment of Rajput’s body.
Rajput, 35, was allegedly drugged and stabbed multiple times in the heart on March 4th before his head was severed, both hands were cut off at the wrists, and his legs were forcibly bent. Doctors described the stab wounds to the heart as having been inflicted with extreme force, indicating a prolonged and violent attack. His body was then stuffed into a drum and sealed with cement in a gruesome attempt to conceal the crime.
The drum, discovered by authorities after Rajput’s family reported him missing on March 18th, had to be cut open to retrieve the remains. A member of the post-mortem team noted that the lack of air prevented significant decomposition, despite the body being encased in cement for over two weeks.
Rastogi and Shukla were arrested shortly after the missing person report was filed. Police allege the pair went on a vacation to Himachal Pradesh immediately after the murder, using Rajput’s phone to mislead his family. The investigation revealed that Rastogi and Shukla had known each other since school and rekindled their relationship in 2019. Rajput and Rastogi married in 2016, despite opposition from his family, and have a six-year-old daughter. Rajput’s family had previously expressed concerns about Rastogi’s behavior, citing neglect of household duties and alleged drug use.
Superintendent of Police (City) Ayush Vikram Singh confirmed the post-mortem findings, describing the crime as exceptionally brutal and highlighting the efforts taken to conceal the body. The investigation is ongoing.
