**Brussels, Belgium – March 23, 2025** – Mehul Choksi, the Indian businessman wanted in connection with a massive ₹13,500 crore bank fraud, has been located in Antwerp, Belgium, according to a report by AssociatedTimes. Choksi, who previously resided in Antigua and Barbuda, reportedly obtained a Belgian residency card using fraudulent documentation.
The report alleges Choksi provided false declarations and forged documents to Belgian authorities, concealing his Indian and Antiguan citizenship. Indian authorities have reportedly requested his extradition.
Choksi’s wife, Preeti Choksi, a Belgian citizen, is with him in Antwerp. The report further claims Choksi plans to relocate to Switzerland for purported medical treatment at a cancer hospital.
Choksi and his nephew, Nirav Modi (currently jailed in London and fighting extradition), are accused of defrauding Punjab National Bank. Modi’s extradition case is ongoing. Choksi’s whereabouts had been uncertain since he went missing from Antigua in May 2021, before eventually being returned.
