**Kolkata, India** – The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for severe thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and winds gusting up to 50-60 kmph in parts of South Bengal. The Howrah Railway Division is taking proactive measures to minimize disruption to train services during this anticipated Kalbaisakhi storm.

To ensure the safety of passengers and the smooth operation of trains, the division has implemented several precautionary steps:

* **Backup Power:** Generators are being ensured at all stations and control rooms to handle potential power outages.
* **Speed Restrictions:** Speed restrictions will be imposed on EMU trains during periods of high winds to prevent accidents.
* **Crew Alert:** Locomotive crews and station staff are on high alert to ensure safety and efficient train operations.
