**Chennai, March 23, 2025:** The Chennai Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in several parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for today and tomorrow, March 23rd and 24th.
The department’s statement indicates that some southern districts of Tamil Nadu experienced rainfall in the past two days, with Tuticorin railway station recording the highest rainfall at 8 cm, followed by 4 cm in Tirparappu, Kanyakumari district and 3 cm each in Valparai and Sathankulam.
While predicting light to moderate rain with thunderstorms for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry over the next two days, the department also noted that Karur and Madurai recorded the highest temperatures yesterday at 37.5°C each, followed by Salem at 36.8°C and Trichy at 36.7°C. Chennai’s maximum temperature was recorded at 35.5°C.
