CHENNAI, INDIA – The Chennai Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain across Tamil Nadu today due to a low-pressure area. The forecast, issued this morning, states that a cyclonic circulation is present over north interior Karnataka and extending up to south Tamil Nadu. This system is expected to bring isolated thunderstorms and light to moderate rainfall to parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal today and tomorrow.
Maximum temperatures are predicted to be 2-3 degrees Celsius above normal in some areas between the 22nd and 26th. Some parts of the state may experience discomfort due to the heat.
Chennai and its suburbs are expected to experience partly cloudy skies with a chance of isolated thunderstorms and light to moderate rain. Maximum temperatures will range from 34-35°C, and minimum temperatures from 27-28°C.
