**Bengaluru, March 22, 2025** – The Bengaluru Civil and Session Court adjourned the hearing of actress Ranya Rao’s bail plea until Monday, March 24th. Rao, arrested for allegedly smuggling 14.2 kg of gold worth ₹12.5 crore, is currently in Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), which arrested Rao upon her arrival from Dubai on March 3rd, opposed the bail application and requested additional time to submit its arguments. The court granted this request, postponing the decision on Rao’s bail until Monday. The Special Court for Economic Offences previously rejected a bail application.
