MYSURU, March 22, 2025 – A bandh called in Karnataka on Saturday to protest an alleged attack on a KSRTC bus conductor in Belagavi saw a mixed response in Mysuru. While the city center experienced significant closures, particularly around K.R. Circle and D. Devaraja Urs Road, many businesses reopened by mid-morning. The impact was less pronounced in areas like Kuvempunagar and Saraswathipuram, where most establishments remained open. Public transport, including autos and KSRTC buses, operated normally. The Mysuru Hotel Owners Association, while expressing moral support for the cause, opposed the bandh, resulting in most hotels and restaurants remaining open. Although traffic was lighter than usual, the lower than normal tourist numbers at the palace were attributed to the low season rather than the bandh.
