**Hyderabad, March 21, 2025** – The Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad, is set to host seven Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, starting March 23. To ensure spectator and player safety, Rachakonda Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu announced a comprehensive security plan involving approximately 2,700 personnel from various police wings.

The stadium, with a capacity of 39,000, will utilize a network of 450 CCTV cameras covering all entry and exit points. Strict access control will be enforced, with Gate No. 1 reserved exclusively for players and VVIPs. Anti-sabotage checks, including bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs, will be conducted daily. Spectators will face rigorous security checks, with a long list of prohibited items including electronics, sharp objects, and outside food. Mobile phone inspections will also be conducted at each gate.

Measures are also in place to combat black market ticket sales and ensure spectator safety and order, including dedicated SHE teams and anti-eve-teasing units. Five designated parking areas have been established to manage traffic flow, and spectators are advised to follow specified routes. Medical and fire services will be on standby.

Traffic diversions will be in effect in Uppal and surrounding areas, particularly on March 23 for the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs. Rajasthan Royals match. Heavy vehicles will be significantly restricted. The Commissioner urged cooperation from spectators to ensure a safe and enjoyable IPL experience.
