**Shanghai, China** – Lewis Hamilton secured a stunning victory in today’s Chinese Grand Prix sprint race, marking his first win for Ferrari. The seven-time world champion delivered a masterclass in tyre management, according to his engineer Riccardo Adami, holding off a determined challenge from Oscar Piastri in second place and Max Verstappen in third.
The race saw a thrilling battle for positions throughout the field. Piastri pushed Verstappen hard for much of the race, eventually snatching second place after Verstappen reported tire issues. George Russell finished fourth, followed by Charles Leclerc, Yuki Tsunoda, Kimi Antonelli, and Lando Norris, who salvaged a point in eighth.
McLaren’s Lando Norris faced tire troubles, while Max Verstappen also struggled with tire graining in the latter stages of the race. The race also saw several overtaking maneuvers, notably Norris’ successful pass on Lance Stroll for eighth place.
The sprint race was overshadowed by the sad news of the passing of legendary Formula 1 team boss and pundit Eddie Jordan. Tributes poured in from across the motorsport world.
