**Patna, Bihar –** Bihar is celebrating its 113th anniversary today, marking the day in 1912 when it became a separate province from Bengal. Three days of festivities are planned across the state, culminating in a main ceremony at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan inaugurated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar this evening.

Celebrations are taking place across Bihar, including Muzaffarpur, Purnea, Bhagalpur, Madhepura, and Gaya, and are also being observed by Bihar’s diaspora abroad. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other leaders have extended their greetings to the people of Bihar.

In a social media post, Prime Minister Modi lauded Bihar’s contributions to Indian history and its current developmental progress, pledging continued support for the state’s growth.

The three-day celebration features cultural programs, including musical performances by artists like Abhijeet Bhattacharya, theatrical productions (particularly a women-themed festival at Premchand Rangshala), and street plays. Government buildings are illuminated in blue to mark the occasion. Venues like the Shri Krishna Memorial Hall and Ravindra Bhavan will also host cultural events.

Events throughout the day have included morning processions by school children in various districts like Banka, Supaul, and Kishanganj. A large gathering is also reported at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.
