**Hyderabad, March 20, 2025** – Relief is on the way for Telangana residents suffering under a relentless heatwave. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms across several districts this weekend.

A weather bulletin issued Wednesday predicts thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Siddipet, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy districts on Friday. The warning intensifies Saturday, escalating to an orange alert with the potential for hailstorms in Nizamabad, Siddipet, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy.

The heatwave continues to impact the state, with 17 of 33 districts recording maximum temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. Bheemaram in Mancherial reached a high of 41.8 degrees Celsius, while Hyderabad’s Asif Nagar saw a maximum temperature of 39.9 degrees Celsius. Twelve districts experienced temperatures between 40 and 41 degrees Celsius. The lowest maximum temperature was recorded in Bachannapet (Jangaon) at 38 degrees Celsius.
