**Chennai, March 21, 2025** – Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu presented a supplementary budget of ₹19,287.44 crore for the 2025-2026 fiscal year in the state Assembly today. The allocation includes ₹12,639.36 crore for revenue, ₹6,429.20 crore for capital expenditure, and ₹218.88 crore for loan accounts.

Significant portions of the supplementary budget are earmarked for key initiatives. This includes ₹2,000 crore in share capital assistance for the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation to bolster its financial stability and infrastructure. Another ₹1,400 crore is allocated for the Kalaignarin Kanavu Illam housing scheme, while ₹1,036 crore will address outstanding electricity dues. State transport undertakings will receive an additional ₹1,000 crore for bus purchases, and ₹901.84 crore is allocated for mitigating the impact of Cyclone Fengal and heavy rainfall in 2024.
