**New Delhi, March 21, 2025** – Following its defeat in the recent Delhi Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has undertaken a significant organizational overhaul. Saurabh Bharadwaj, a former minister, has been appointed as the new president of the Delhi unit, replacing Gopal Rai. Simultaneously, senior leader Manish Sisodia will now oversee the party’s operations in Punjab, the only state where AAP currently holds power.

These appointments were announced by AAP general secretary (organisation) Sandeep Pathak following a meeting of the party’s political affairs committee at Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. Mr. Rai has been assigned responsibility for the party’s expansion efforts in Gujarat. Further appointments include Mr. Pathak taking charge of Chhattisgarh, Pankaj Gupta leading the Goa unit, and Mehraj Malik heading the Jammu and Kashmir unit.

The meeting also focused on the BJP’s alleged broken promises in Delhi, specifically regarding the promised ₹2,500 monthly financial assistance and free LPG cylinders for women.
