**Madurai, March 22, 2025** – A swift response by an alert Armed Reserve police constable led to the rescue of a kidnapped advocate and his driver in Madurai within hours of the incident. Constable Vignesh, while patrolling near the Gandhi Museum on Thursday, witnessed a man being forced into a car by several individuals. Despite losing sight of the vehicle, his quick thinking to record the car’s video (which lacked a license plate) proved crucial.
The Tallakulam police, alerted by Constable Vignesh, utilized CCTV footage to identify and track the kidnappers’ motorbike. This led them to Tirupachethi in Sivaganga district where the police apprehended three suspects: Rajkumar (31), Marimuthu (23), and Srikanth (19). The kidnapped victims, advocate Senthilvel (32) and his driver Lakshmanan, were subsequently rescued.
Investigations revealed that Senthilvel was kidnapped by his cousin, Rajkumar, over an unpaid ₹5 lakh loan. All suspects are currently in custody. The efficient police work highlights the importance of vigilant observation and coordinated action in resolving such crimes.
