**Hyderabad, March 21, 2025** – Telangana, which recently experienced temperatures soaring to 42°C, saw a slight reprieve on Thursday with the maximum temperature dropping to 39.9°C. However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather alerts for widespread thunderstorms across the state.

An orange alert has been issued for eight districts – Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Jagtial, Mancherial, Pedapalli, and Jayashankar Bhuplapally – warning of thunderstorms, lightning, hailstorms, and gusty winds. A yellow alert, indicating thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds, is in place for thirteen other districts, including Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, and several others.

The highest maximum temperature recorded on Thursday was 39.9°C in Bhadrachalam. Hyderabad saw a high of 38.6°C in Bandlaguda. The IMD forecasts hazy conditions for Hyderabad on Friday, with temperatures expected to reach a high of 37°C and a low of 23°C. The alerts come as a welcome change after days of intense heat but urge residents to remain cautious.
