**TIRUPATI, March 21, 2025** – A national seminar held at Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) in Tirupati highlighted the need for a shift in literary strategies to adapt to evolving reader preferences. Prominent literary critic and former Dravidian University registrar, B. Tirupati Rao, delivered the keynote address at the PM USHA-sponsored event, emphasizing the importance of incorporating modern and postmodern approaches, as well as interdisciplinary research methods in literature studies and higher education. He also stressed the crucial role of critical theory in literary analysis.

The seminar, focusing on “Recent disciplinary trends towards social transformation,” included a special session featuring Sahitya Akademi awardee Madhurantakam Narendra, who discussed his award-winning novel, “Manodharma Paragam,” which explores the Devadasi system. Participants engaged with Narendra in a question-and-answer session.

The seminar proceedings were released as a special publication by SPMVV School of Social Sciences dean in-charge P. Vijayalakshmi and PM USHA coordinator C. Vani.
