**Vijayawada, March 21, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh government is developing a new master plan for Visakhapatnam’s development over the next 30 years, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana announced Friday. The plan, expected to be released within four months, will incorporate the city’s metro railway project.

Addressing MLAs from Visakhapatnam at a meeting in Amaravati, Minister Narayana acknowledged traffic congestion issues, particularly those stemming from roads leading to the Bhogapuram airport. He stated that road expansion and alternative routes are being developed to address this.

Several MLAs raised concerns regarding the current master plan and issues facing residents. Visakhapatnam North MLA P. Vishnu Kumar Raju urged immediate corrections to existing flaws, while TDP State president Palla Srinivasa Rao highlighted difficulties faced by small plot owners. Anakapalli MLA Konathala Ramakrishna emphasized the need to address issues such as 22A lands, water supply, and the beach corridor in the new plan. The meeting included senior government officials and other Visakhapatnam MLAs. The Minister also assured that a state-wide drive will resolve the TDR bonds issue soon.
