**Mysuru, Karnataka – March 21, 2025** – H.D. Purushotam, a student from the Government Engineering College (GEC) in Hassan, has emerged victorious in the Mysuru regional finals of the TCS TechBytes quiz competition. The 16th edition of the annual event, aimed at boosting IT understanding among engineering students, saw Purushotam beat out Hemanth R. of Jyothy Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, who secured second place.

The win earns Purushotam a ₹12,000 gift voucher, while the runner-up received ₹10,000. All finalists received vouchers. The competition, a campus outreach program by TCS, involved a written test followed by a five-segment interactive quiz covering various technologies.

Haraprasad Dean, Internal Quality Assurance & Accreditation at JSS Science & Technology University, presented the awards. Purushotam will now represent Mysuru in the state finals in Bengaluru on April 8th.

Sunil Deshpande, regional head of TCS Bengaluru, highlighted the competition’s role in fostering a future-ready talent pool equipped with relevant skills. S. Sadagopan, chairman of BITES, emphasized the program’s contribution to building a culture of excellence.

The regional finals are being held across six Karnataka cities: Mangaluru, Mysuru, Kalaburagi, Hubballi, Tumakuru, and Bengaluru.
