**HYDERABAD, March 20, 2025** – Medicover Hospitals Hyderabad, in partnership with Ashri Society, celebrated World Oral Health Day by providing free dental check-ups to orphaned children on Thursday. The event aimed to raise awareness about oral hygiene and its crucial role in overall health.
Dr. C. Sharath Babu, Consultant Prosthodontist and Implantologist at Medicover Hospitals, emphasized the widespread prevalence of oral diseases—affecting nearly 90% of the global population—and stressed that most are preventable through proper oral care. He educated the children on essential hygiene practices, including brushing twice daily, rinsing after meals, and regular six-monthly dental check-ups. Dr. Babu also warned against excessive sugar consumption, linking it to increased risk of tooth decay, particularly in children. The camp provided vital oral health services and education to a vulnerable population.
