**New Delhi, March 21, 2025** – Ramesh Chandra, 88-year-old founder of the realty firm Unitech, was granted bail on Friday by the Delhi High Court in a money laundering case. Chandra, arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in October 2021, had been granted interim bail on medical grounds in 2022, which was subsequently extended.
The case involves allegations of serious financial offenses, including the diversion of approximately ₹5,826 crore belonging to homebuyers. These allegations stem from multiple FIRs filed by the Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing, accusing Chandra and others of cheating, criminal conspiracy, and bribery. Justice Jasmeet Singh delivered the bail order.
