**Bengaluru, March 21, 2025** – The first annual Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations commenced today across Karnataka, with 896,447 students from 15,881 schools participating. Exams are being held at 2,818 centers across the state.
The day’s exams covered first-language papers (Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, English and Sanskrit), administered from 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) implemented stringent security measures and web-streaming to deter malpractice.
School Education and Literacy Minister Madhu Bangarappa visited an examination center in Bengaluru, welcoming students with roses and overseeing arrangements. Public transport corporations, including KSRTC and BMTC, provided free bus services to students. The gender breakdown of students includes 461,563 boys and 434,884 girls.
