**AUSTIN, TX** – The UTSA Roadrunners pulled off a stunning upset Tuesday night, defeating the No. 8 Texas Longhorns 8-7 in a 12-inning marathon at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. This marks the Roadrunners’ third victory over a ranked opponent this season, further solidifying their status as a formidable team.

UTSA jumped out to an early lead, thanks to a leadoff home run by Caden Miller on the second pitch of the game. The Roadrunners added another run in the first inning, but Texas quickly responded, taking a 3-2 lead. The Longhorns extended their advantage to 5-2 in the third inning, capitalizing on a throwing error, and further increased their lead to 6-2 in the fifth on a solo home run.

However, UTSA mounted a furious comeback. A three-run sixth inning, highlighted by a double from Nathan Hodge, brought the Roadrunners within striking distance. Miller then blasted his second home run of the game in the seventh, tying the score at 6-6. A subsequent error by Texas allowed UTSA to take a 7-6 lead. Texas responded with a leadoff homer in the bottom of the eighth to knot the game again at 7-7.

The game remained deadlocked through nine innings, forcing extra innings. In the top of the twelfth, with two outs, Andrew Stucky delivered the game-winning solo home run, securing an 8-7 victory for UTSA. The Roadrunners’ pitching staff, including Zach Royse, Robert Orloski, and Braylon Owens, held the Longhorns scoreless over the final four innings.

The win marks UTSA’s first extra-inning victory and improves their record to 3-0 in one-run games. Miller’s performance was particularly noteworthy, with two home runs, marking the third time a Roadrunner has achieved this feat in a single game. Lytle also contributed significantly, recording three hits. The victory pushes UTSA’s record to 17-6, while Texas falls to 17-2.
