**COIMBATORE, March 20, 2025** – Coimbatore District Police have arrested a 35-year-old man, M. Murali, for stabbing his friend’s wife near Anamalai on Monday, March 17th. Murali, a resident of Dindigul district, was apprehended in Neelambur on Tuesday evening after attempting to flee on a two-wheeler, resulting in a leg fracture.
Police investigations revealed a past affair between Murali and the victim, which ended two years ago. Murali recently contacted the woman, demanding a resumption of their relationship, a request she refused. The stabbing occurred at a bus stop near Anamalai while the woman waited for a bus to Kerala, where she works.
Murali received medical treatment for his injury at a private hospital before being remanded in judicial custody. The investigation is ongoing.
