**Jaipur, India –** Jaipur police have arrested a woman, Gopali Devi, for the murder of her husband, Dhannalal Saini, a vegetable seller. Devi, along with her lover, Deendayal Kushwaha, is accused of bludgeoning Saini to death last Saturday following a confrontation about her five-year affair with Kushwaha.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South, Digant Anand, Saini discovered his wife’s infidelity after following her to Kushwaha’s workplace, a clothing store. A heated argument ensued, escalating to violence inside a nearby shop. Devi and Kushwaha allegedly struck Saini on the head with an iron pipe and strangled him with a rope.
The pair then attempted to dispose of the body. CCTV footage captured them transporting the body, concealed in a sack, on Kushwaha’s motorcycle. They later attempted to burn the body near the Ring Road to obscure identification, but fled when approached by a vehicle, leaving the body only partially burned. Police identified the remains two days later.
While Devi is in custody, police are still searching for Kushwaha. The investigation is ongoing.
