Thu Mar 20 01:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Brace for Three Days of Rain
**Hyderabad, March 20:** Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are expected to receive three days of rainfall starting Friday, March 21, bringing much-needed relief from the intense heat, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). A large mass of clouds, resembling a massive swirl, is moving from the Arabian Sea towards the two states, accompanied by strong winds.
The IMD and Hyderabad weather officials predict light to moderate rain in several Telangana districts, including Mahabubabad, Siricilla, Jagtial, Bopalapalli, Jangaon, Warangal, Ghanmakonda, and Siddipet, from March 21st to 23rd. Some districts are also warned of thunderstorms on the 22nd. Hailstorms are also a possibility in certain areas. Hyderabad is also forecast to experience a change in weather, with reduced temperatures and relief from the heat. The IMD also warned of the potential formation of a cyclone and urged residents to remain vigilant due to expected high winds.
While Rayalaseema in Andhra Pradesh is likely to experience light to moderate rain, the possibility of coastal areas receiving rainfall is dependent on wind direction. However, Telangana is expected to receive significantly more rainfall than Andhra Pradesh.
Currently, temperatures in Telangana are around 34-35°C and 35-37°C in Andhra Pradesh (coastal and Rayalaseema respectively). These temperatures will likely remain high throughout Thursday. However, cloud cover is expected to increase in Rayalaseema by evening, gradually spreading to south Telangana and coastal areas, leading to the anticipated change in weather from Friday. Wind speeds are currently moderate but are expected to increase overnight. Humidity levels are expected to rise sharply overnight, setting the stage for the predicted rainfall. People are advised to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, especially between 10 am and 4 pm, in areas that may not experience rain.
