Thu Mar 20 07:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Salian Father Seeks CBI Inquiry, Blames Media and Politicians in Daughter’s Death

**Mumbai, India** – The death of Disha Salian, former manager of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, continues to be a point of contention, with her father, Satish Salian, filing a petition in the Bombay High Court demanding a CBI investigation. Salian’s death on June 8, 2020, was initially ruled as a suicide by Mumbai Police.

However, in a dramatic shift, Mr. Salian is now alleging that his daughter’s death was a murder, implicating Aditya Thackeray, a leader of the Shiv Sena, and demanding an FIR be filed against him. His petition claims that the true cause of his daughter’s death has been suppressed due to political interference.

This new petition follows a previously undisclosed letter Mr. Salian wrote in 2020 to Mumbai Police, expressing his distress over media coverage surrounding his daughter’s death. He accused media outlets of spreading false narratives, linking her death to Sushant Singh Rajput’s, and creating damaging rumors of rape and murder. He also complained about intrusive journalists attempting to obtain interviews.

While Mr. Salian previously stated that his daughter had no connection to any politicians or actors, his current petition directly implicates Aditya Thackeray. BJP leaders Narayan Rane and his son Nitesh Rane have also been vocal in their criticism of Thackeray regarding this case for the past five years.

The Salian family claims that the media frenzy and social media campaigns by Rajput’s fans have caused them immense distress. They maintain that while they trust the Mumbai Police’s initial investigation, they believe a CBI inquiry is now necessary to uncover the truth surrounding Disha Salian’s death. The case has reignited political tensions in Maharashtra. The renewed allegations are expected to further intensify the ongoing debate surrounding the circumstances of Disha Salian’s death.
