**Mumbai, March 20, 2025** – The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Coastal Cyclathon, a 6,553 km cycling event promoting coastal security awareness, reached its halfway point in Mumbai today. Over 1,000 cyclists are participating in the event, which has already garnered over 5 million online impressions.
The cyclathon, which began earlier this year, aims to raise awareness about the importance of coastal security among local communities and encourage cooperation with law enforcement agencies. The route includes 26 events and 118 interactions with local communities. The event’s arrival in Mumbai is being celebrated with cultural programs at the Gateway of India.
A CISF statement highlighted the event’s success in fostering better coordination between local communities and security agencies to combat threats like smuggling. The statement emphasized the importance of engaging fishing communities in maintaining coastal vigilance. Celebrities from the film and cricket industries have also shown their support for the initiative. Organizers reported that approximately 10 lakh people have participated in the event physically. The cyclathon is expected to continue to its final destination.
