**Mumbai, India** – Aaditya Thackeray, leader of the Yuva Sena, has responded to allegations made in a petition filed by the parents of Disha Salian, who died in 2020. The petition, which alleges Salian’s death was a result of gang rape and murder, also names Thackeray and former mayor Kishori Pednekar as individuals against whom charges should be filed.

Thackeray vehemently denied the allegations, stating that attempts to defame him have been ongoing for the past five years. He asserted that he will respond to the allegations in court. He further criticized the current government, accusing them of focusing on distractions rather than addressing critical issues facing Maharashtra, such as crime rates, farmer suicides, and women’s safety. He highlighted the government’s failure to address their election promises, calling their electoral victory a result of voter fraud.

The Disha Salian death case has been the subject of intense political debate, with the opposition demanding a fresh investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. The current controversy led to disruptions in the state assembly. Thackeray’s response comes amidst calls from the victim’s parents for an independent and transparent inquiry.
