Tue Mar 18 13:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Sequoia Capital to Reap $3 Billion From Google’s $32 Billion Acquisition of Wiz

**Mountain View, CA –** Sequoia Capital stands to receive a massive return on its investment in cybersecurity startup Wiz following Google parent Alphabet Inc.’s planned $32 billion acquisition. Sources familiar with the matter report Sequoia, holding approximately 10% of Wiz, is poised to receive roughly $3 billion, representing a 25-fold return on its investment.

Another major Wiz investor, Greenoaks Capital Partners, is also set for a substantial payout of around $2 billion, a 6.67x return on its roughly $300 million investment.

The deal, Alphabet’s largest to date, will see Wiz, a cloud-based cybersecurity platform, integrated into Google Cloud. The acquisition is lauded by Sequoia partner Doug Leone as a move that will “spur the adoption of multicloud cybersecurity,” aligning with both companies’ vision for enhanced cloud security. Sequoia and Cyberstarts were early investors in Wiz, participating in its seed round and subsequent funding rounds alongside firms like Index Ventures and Insight Partners.

Representatives from Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Wiz declined to comment on the pending transaction. The deal is expected to close soon.
