Tue Mar 18 15:40:16 UTC 2025: ## Former MLA P.K. Sasi Reinstated to CPI(M) After Disciplinary Action

**Palakkad, Kerala – March 18, 2025** – P.K. Sasi, chairman of the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) and former MLA, has been reinstated into the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)). Sasi, who faced disciplinary action for alleged financial misappropriation and anti-party activities, will rejoin the party as a member of the Mannarkkad Nayadippara branch.

Following an investigation into allegations of illegally collecting funds for a party-managed cooperative college and other alleged misconduct, including attempting to frame party district secretary E.N. Suresh Babu, Sasi was demoted to the branch level several months ago. While the specific branch was not initially designated, preventing his participation in party meetings, his reinstatement now marks a return to the party fold.

Party sources indicated that Sasi’s seniority played a role in preventing his expulsion. Despite his demotion, Sasi retained his KTDC chairmanship, a decision that reportedly caused internal friction within the CPI(M). His reintegration into the party will require him to rebuild his standing within the organization. The CPI(M) Mannarkkad area committee approved his renewed membership.
