**RICHMOND, VA** – A Piedmont Airlines flight was safely diverted to Richmond International Airport (RIC) on Sunday afternoon after experiencing a mechanical issue. Flight 5852, en route from Newport News to Charlotte, landed without incident with 47 passengers and three crew members onboard. No injuries were reported.
