**Los Angeles, CA –** The Los Angeles Chargers announced Tuesday the signing of veteran center Andre James, formerly of the Las Vegas Raiders. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The move comes after James was released by the Raiders this offseason, meaning the signing will not affect the Chargers’ compensatory draft picks.
James, 27, began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA in 2019. He quickly rose through the ranks, signing a multi-year extension with the Raiders in 2021 and a restructured deal in 2022. Last year, he signed a three-year, $24 million contract with the Raiders before being released earlier this year. In the 2024 season, James started 11 of the 13 games he played for the Raiders. The Chargers’ acquisition of James adds depth and experience to their offensive line.
