**Thiruvananthapuram, [Date]** – A bomb threat at the Thiruvananthapuram Collectorate took an unexpected turn today when a swarm of bees attacked, injuring approximately 70 people. The incident unfolded after an email warning of explosives planted in the building’s pipes prompted a police and bomb squad investigation.
The bomb threat, later deemed a hoax, led to the evacuation of the building. However, during the evacuation, a large number of bees attacked, stinging police personnel, media representatives, Collectorate staff, and members of the public.
District Collector Anu Kumari confirmed the incident, stating that the bee attack was an unforeseen complication following the bomb scare. Around 70 individuals sought treatment at Peroorkada government hospital, with five requiring transfer to the medical college due to serious stings. Collector Kumari expressed relief that no one was seriously injured in the overall incident.
Police are currently investigating the source of the hoax bomb threat. The unexpected bee attack added another layer of chaos to what began as a serious security incident.
