**Visakhapatnam, March 18, 2025** – To ensure smooth connectivity to the upcoming Bhogapuram International Airport, the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) has announced a ₹390 crore plan to upgrade 15 roads totaling 75.52 km. The project, expected to be completed by June 2026, coincides with the airport’s projected operational start date.

The improvements will include widening and beautification, with some roads being newly constructed. Key upgrades include widening a 6.5 km stretch from Boddavalasa to Vizianagaram Ring Road from 9 meters to 24 meters, and expanding the Dakamarri-Ravada road by 30 meters. VMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner K.S. Viswanathan stated that tenders for the project will likely be released in April 2025.
